Abstract

The paper presents a way to determine the image charges in the case of a point charge in the presence of two grounded conductive spheres. The result is used for the computation of the electric scalar potential in a point. We show that, through an inversion transformation, the problem of the potential of a point charge in the presence of a plane and a sphere is reduced to the preceding problem. The solution was obtained with the help of a few C++ programs. The results are useful in the field of electrostatic separators.
