Abstract
Compact forms of neutron interrogation could prove useful for instances when a large scale active interrogation system is not ideal. Field ion desorption structures provide the opportunity to produce ions by creating beams of deuterium or deuterium and tritium ions which strike a target doped with deuterium or deuterium and tritium, thus producing a neutron.
