Solar and wind energy are already among the cheapest sources of energy in the world and have significant potential for further development. The demand for renewable energy sources is steadily growing. The article deals in detail with international trends in the field of renewable energy sources (RES), examines the driving factors for the development of RES, the evolution of technological solutions in the field of RES, some aspects of renewable public energy service, and studies the features of RES operation in Ukraine
