Abstract

In this paper, a novel hexagonal phoenix antenna element for Ka-band applications is proposed. By employing this element, a 0-360° phase-shift range in a single layer can be achieved. A 15×15 orbital angular momentum (OAM) reflectarray with mode +2 is designed through this phoenix element in the Ka-band. The simulation results show that the reflectarray has a 1-dB gain bandwidth of 19.2% and a divergence angle of 9°, which can achieve good OAM beam radiation.
