Abstract
Humanistic outcomes such as quality of life are very important parameters for assessing the success of chemotherapy. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the impact of using the cisplatin-vincristin-bleomycin regimen before and after chemotherapy on quality of life. It was conducted using a cross-sectional design in inpatients at Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung from June 2015 to March 2016. The data were taken prospectively by field observation. The patient's quality of life was measured using the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire (EORTC QLQ-C30) questionnaire. Furthermore, the difference in domain values before and after chemotherapy was evaluated statistically by paired t-test (p<0.05). The results show an increase in all aspects of the functional domain, except social functions. There was a tendency to reduce the symptom domain except for decreased appetite (p=0.009). The domain of global health status increased significantly after chemotherapy (p=0.000). Overall, using the cisplatin-vincristin-bleomycin regimen for three cycles improves the quality of life of cervical cancer patients.
