The specific QoS requirements of various classes are mapped into deterministic effective bandwidth and then used to assign weights accordingly. Abstract

Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) is an emerging access network technology that provides a low-cost method of deploying next generation broadband access network. Dynamic bandwidth assignment (DBA) provides statistical multiplexing between the optical network units for upstream channel utilization.
