Abstract

An easy to construct ultra-wideband microstrip antenna with about 43% bandwidth on a flexible substrate is demonstrated. It is observed that the characteristics of the antenna such as bandwidth and group delay are not degraded appreciably for this conformal array on a concave conical surface, when compared to a similar array on a planar surface. S-parameters between various elements of this array, when an object is placed in front of it, may be used for image reconstruction.
