Abstract

ABSTRACT: This paper aims to discuss the arrival of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Brazil and its impact on the unified health system, resulting in the instability of the public health system and the alarming increase in the number of uninsured deaths. the proper provision of assistance, whether due to the absence of supplies, beds or even medical labor. For this, the right to health in Brazil and the arrival of the unified health system, as well as its principles and the difficulties faced in its implementation, are discussed at first before arriving at the concept of mythanasia. Based on this concept, social vulnerability, the trivialization of human life and how deaths from mythanasia became even more evident in the COVID-19 pandemic scenario were discussed, especially when the analysis of the number of deaths from mythanasia points out, in its the majority, the vulnerable. Finally, an analysis is made of the crisis experienced by the Brazilian public health system and the role of the State in face of its precariousness, which was already a reality even before the arrival of the virus. The methodology used is qualitative, through bibliographical research and study of legislation and jurisprudence that cover the subject.
