Abstract
The textile industry stands out as the second most used sector in Brazil, with the mesoregions of Campinas/SP and Vale do Itajaí/SC as the largest textile poles in Latin America. In this sense, this article aims to compare the profile of the jobs generated in the Textile Product Manufacturing sector (division 13, CNAE 2.0) in the mesoregions of Campinas/SP and Vale do Itajaí/SC. The research is methodologically classified as descriptive, bibliographical and documentary with a qualitative analysis approach, carried out through the collection of data from the Annual Social Information Relation (RAIS) and the General Register of Employed and Unemployed Persons (CAGED). In general terms, the results indicate that the sector employs more men, with low educational level and low remuneration. In addition, the sector is shutting down more employees than hiring, especially in the mesoregion of Campinas. It was also observed that the Vale do Itajaí mesoregion has more textile establishments and employees, predominating youngsters up to 24 years old, when compared to the mesoregion of Campinas, employing more people over 30 years. It should be noted the increase in microenterprises caused by outsourcing services
