Abstract

An outline is presented of the concepts and step-by-step approach used for the design of a single-board computer, the SBC-186, based on the Intel 80186 microprocessor. It was designed as a stand-alone system consisting of the processor and a terminal, and incorporates a variety of memory and input/output (I/O) options.
