Abstract
Circuit modeling techniques have been devel oped to account for the parasitic behavior of discrete passive components (resistors, capaci tors, inductors) for frequencies up to 1 GHz using manufacturers data and simplified measure ment techniques. The resultant circuit models can be used both with computer-aided-analysis/ design/synthesis programs (e.g., NCAP, SPICE, SCEPTRE) and with hand-held calculators to ac curately account for appropriate responses in the frequency domain. Thus, use of these tech niques will provide more accurate designs for EMC and more precise EMI prediction capabilities particularly at the printed circuit board (pcb) level.
