Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the type and abundance of microplastics in the waters of the Koto Panjang hydropower reservoir. This research was carried out in November 2021-January 2022 in the waters of the Koto Panjang Hydropower Reservoir. Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling at 5 research stations. Sample analysis and identification of microplastics at the Waste Treatment Laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Riau. The results showed that the types of microplastics identified were fibers, fragments and films. The most dominant type found is the film type. The most abundant microplastics were found at station 5 with the highest abundance at a depth of 3 meters below the water level of 1.267 particles/m3.
