Abstract
Since 2002 AAA plant has been struggling to control the temperature on reactor RE1002, with 96 cartridges heaters, 525VAC with a power of 12kW each. In order to guarantee the desired heat transfer supplied by the electrical heater, a multiple PI control technique is proposed. And Numerical simulations are carried out to show the effectiveness of the control technique. A Switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) are inherently nonlinear and time-varying systems. The controller should provide a good level of robustness in spite of large input voltage, output current and parameter variations. [1]. The temperature will be controlled from 0–360°C from a DCS set point which range between 4–20mA the existing control/monitoring system is Honeywell which will allow us to extract data and analyse the performance of the HTS-1003 heaters and other plant parameters. The electrical heaters HTS-1003 will be controlled by the electrical heater controller that will be designed on this project which will get command from DCS.
