Abstract

. Volunteerism in a Time of Change – Pastoral Implications for Social and Charitable Engagement Voluntary engagement is a characteristic feature of the free civil societies of Poland and Germany. Not only forms of engagement are changing, but also church, pastoral and charitable engagement is subject to constant change. The article compares the forms of commitment in both countries and addresses the pastoral and the-ological observations that accompany this change in charitable volunteering.
