It is extremely important to ensure sufficient stocks in the stockyard. The article uses the self-developed ItasCAD, a geological 3D design platform based on the DSI underlying modeling engine and the “graphics + data” architecture of the Northwestern Institute. Use the 3D digital method to check the capacity of the stockyard, and carry out the geological 3D modeling work based on the preliminary survey data of the Jinchuan Hydropower Station. Establishing stockyard capacity envelope for each excavation elevation model in design slope ratio, in order to achieve the release unwanted material reserves and inquiries. This method can also be used to quickly update the geological model of the stockyard according to the actual geological conditions along with the excavation of the site, combined with the dynamic mining of the stockyard, quickly complete the capacity review work of the stockyard, and realize the dynamic calculation of the stockyard capacity.
