Abstract

A theory was presented by Ahmed’ using a generalised straightforward analytical method for restrained torsional analysis of thin-walled single-cell and multi-cell composite box beams with prismatic and tapered geometrical configuration by incorporating the complications emerging from the use of such materials into the existing isotropic theories. The torsional analysis results using his theory for single cell tapered box beam with taper angles, Alpha and Beta equal to 0.50 degree, having all [0/45/-45/90] lay-up in flanges and web are presented here.
