Abstract
Modern high-quality medicine would be inconceivable without computer and communication technology. A physician can manage an enormous stream of data (especially images) only by using computerized information systems. That's why telemedicine applications are widely accepted in radiology. High standards for patient health care cannot be maintained without the introduction of modern radiological information systems (RISs) and PACS. This paper introduces a new intranet/Internet-oriented RIS for the transmission, visualization and processing of medical images, which can be used in hospitals and in doctor's offices.
