Abstract
Harmonic reduction techniques for power quality enhancement is of prime importance when it comes to grid connected PV systems. This paper focuses on design and analysis of inductive (L), inductive-capacitive (LC), higher order LCL and LLCL filters in a three-phase grid-tied PV system. Parameters design procedure is discussed for all topologies in a 100KW grid integrated system. A comparison of harmonic content in each topology is presented to best analyze the performance of each filter. The LLCL filter shows promising results, which ultimately leads to maximum enhancement of power quality as well as reduced harmonic distortion of 0.58% when compared with other filters. The working and performance of said filters is verified in MATLAB/Simulink.
