Abstract

The humoral primary immune response to Pseudomonas aeruginosa lipopolysaccharide was studied. Mice immunized with various doses of LPS developed anti-LPS antibodies. Antibody activity was due to 19S and 7S immunoglobulins. Extracts rich in RNA from spleen cells of immune mice were able to transfer specific anti-LPS response to normal recipients. Immunogenic antigen contamination of RNA was ruled out by a variety of controls.
