Abstract

This book is an edited collection of writings by leading scholars in the field of work and family research. It takes a multi-disciplinary approach in questioning the thesis Lisa Belkin developed in her well-publicized October 26, 2003 New York Times article “The Opt-Out Revolution,” that highly educated women who enter the workplace tend to leave upon marrying and having children.
