Abstract

We propose a new schematic design for sending and receiving a digital video stream on the heterogeneous Internet environment such as a Gigabit Ethernet and a narrow bandwidth satellite link. On such network, a sender can send the full 30fps digital video stream, but not all sites can receive a full quality video. In our proposed scheme, a DVTS repeater named Dvrelay is introduced to reduce frame rate of a DVTS stream going through it.
