The goal of engineering education is not only a description of the knowledge, skills and attitudes appreciate to university education, but also an indication of the level of proficiency expected of graduating students. This paper aims to translate of the underlying requirements for the division of data science and big data technologies into a formal set of goal, and the level of proficiency under the Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate (CDIO) initiative’s objective.
