Nuevas estrategias y generaciones de analgésicos opioides: ¿qué se está investigando?

Abstract

Opioid drugs are indispensable in the treatment of moderate-severe pain. However, adverse effects may limit their use especially in the treatment of chronic pain. It is vitally important to find new therapeutic alternatives that offer a better safety profile without reducing efficacy. In this brief review we explain what are the research strategies that are being followed to obtain a new generation of drugs that acting on the endogenous opioid system could offer a better efficacy-safety profile.
