Chairing a Session

Abstract

It was an honour to have been nominated to act as Chairman for one of the sessions of the First National Aboriginal Health Worker Conference in Darwin, although I am still not sure how or why I was among those selected. I did not know that I was to chair a session until the day my team-mates and I arrived in Darwin and I read on the program that I was Chairman for the session on 'The Role and Future Training Needs of Aboriginal Health Workers,' the last session of the Conference. During the Conference, the various Chairpersons did such excellent jobs, making the task look so easy, that I did not feel at all nervous - until I finally had to stand up in front of the crowd to open the session.
