Abstract
The ad hoc on demand distance vector (AODV) routing protocol is a highly efficient routing protocol intended for use by mobile nodes in an ad hoc network. An mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is actually a collection of mobile nodes which can communicate with each other without any fixed infrastructure like the base station. AODV routing protocol adapts quickly to dynamic link conditions, it has low processing and memory overhead, low network utilization, and determines unicast routes to destinations. The main highlight of this protocol is the usage of destination sequence number which omits problems like counting to infinity problem or the formation of loops which are associated with other classical distance vector protocols. In this paper, the AODV protocol is implemented using hardware and the simulation and synthesis report of ad hoc routing protocol is presented. Implementing this in hardware will reduce the power consumption and delay time so that the mobile device's battery life time is extended in an unpredictable temporary communication network in case of an emergency like floods, earthquakes and on mountains where there is no scope for construction of required infrastructure and also helps in military applications
