Abstract

An on-line monitoring system of hybrid HVDC circuit breaker is designed. Through on-line monitoring of characteristic parameters such as mechanical switches, power electronic switches and MOA of hybrid HVDC circuit breaker, analysis and evaluation of operation status and fault trend of hybrid HVDC circuit breaker are realized. The classification method and evaluation index of monitoring system are studied, and extracting method of monitoring indicators is put forward, then the system architecture, the procedure of monitoring and the process of evaluation is described. Finally, the application deployment effect of the online monitoring system shows that the monitoring system can effectively evaluate the operation status of the high-voltage DC circuit breaker, and it provide an effective monitoring means for the high-voltage DC circuit breaker.
