Abstract

Four-ball testing machine was used to investigate the tribological properties of pentaerythritol oleate in the second type of base oil and hydraulic oil. The influence of different additive concentrations and loads on its tribological properties was studied. The results show that pentaerythritol oleate exhibits good anti-wear performance in type II base oil and hydraulic oil. In type II base oil, the additive concentration is in the range of 0.1% to 4%, with 1% being the best. The friction coefficient decreases the most.
