Abstract
: Amniotic band syndrome is a rare, congenital anomaly, with several disfiguring and disabling manifestations that can even lead to miscarriage. It can cause abnormalities that can be identified on ultrasound or just at birth. It occurs equally in boys and girls and there is no racial predisposition, its incidence is from 1:2000 to 1:15,000 live births. In this context, the present study aims to present the case report of a female patient, seven years old, with amniotic band syndrome. The syndrome does not have an unclear etiology and pathophysiology. Therefore, the diagnosis is sometimes difficult, and the obstetrician and neonatologist must be aware of this possibility, since the correct diagnosis is essential for family counseling.
