Abstract

In this paper, a new synchronous generator steady-state model is presented with the purpose of determining the limits of the capability diagram. Those limits can be expressed by computationally efficient functions that are suitable for implementation in the real-time online environment. Computationally efficient limit functions are used in the calculation methodology of a common capability diagram for a parallelly connected generator group. Finally, as a result, the common capability limits are shown, and it is visible that their shape and width depend on operating modes of active power distribution between the generators in the group.
