Abstract

Sexual violence in its many forms is experienced by an overwhelming number of women and men in the United States.1 Yet, women who are survivors of sexual violence who are then accused of similar sexual violence lack a voice in the literature. In this autoethnography, the author tells a story of victimization using Ellis’s sociological introspection to analyze her feelings of the assault.2 Following this analysis, she continues her narrative by recounting another form of victimization: being falsely accused of sexual assault. Through sociological introspection, the author establishes parallels between her two experiences.
