Abstract

This paper presents an analytical expression for determining the friction capacity parameter in steel-concrete composites under bending moments. The analytical values of the deflections are compared with the values obtained experimentally. The results show that neglecting the interfacial effect in current standards and guidelines leads to incorrect assessment of structural deformability. The proposed analytical model can be used to determine the stiffness of steel-concrete composite slabs simply supported at both ends.
