Samples from the Palludda Barru field were first characterized to determine the minerals and the levels of minerals or elements contained in the chromite ore. The ore before being fed, was reduced in size using a jaw crusher and ball mill. Experiments were conducted by varying the table inclination angle from 5° to 15°. The results showed that the inclination angle affected the Cr content and recovery obtained. Abstract

Chromite ore is an iron chromium oxide mineral with the chemical formula FeCr 2 O 4 . The dominant chromite ore mined is utilized for the manufacture of ferrochrome, the rest for refractories and paint materials.
