Abstract

SCADA is the acronym for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. This system helps the users to monitor and control complex processes in the industry aspects. Nowadays, SCADA operates in private companies and governmental institutions. However, the vulnerabilities and threats are rapidly increasing among these systems, especially with the deployment of the 5G network. Therefore, the effect of a security breach can be widely spread in the economy and the community. Moreover, security breaches in SCADA systems can lead to severe consequences due to the nature of the infrastructure they manage and monitor. This paper summarizes the SCADA system, its components, and its applications.
