Depressão e Suicídio sob a Perspectiva da Psicologia Cognitivo-Comportamental

Abstract

Introducao: O suicidio e um fenomeno destrutivo e com grande impacto social, esteve presente em todas as sociedades, foi estudado pela filosofia, sociologia e posteriormente pela psiquiatria, psicologia e psicanalise. Estima-se que em 2008 houve cerca de 9.000 suicidios oficialmente registrados em todo pais, colocando o Brasil entre os dez paises que mais registram numeros absolutos de suicidios. Objetivo: Descrever e refletir sobre a relacao entre a depressao e suicidio, sob a perspectiva da Psicologia Cognitivo-Comportamental. Metodologia: Para construcao dessa pesquisa foi escolhida uma abordagem descritiva da revisao da literatura. Essa metodologia e apropriada para descrever e discutir o desenvolvimento de um assunto especifico, a partir de uma perspectiva teorica ou contextual. Resultados e discussao: De acordo com a literatura, o suicidio possui causas multifatoriais, havendo relacao com depressao. O levantamento mostrou que a Psicologia Cognitivo-Comportamental – PCC e eficiente nas intervencoes e pode atuar em conjunto com tratamento farmacologico. Conclusao: Apesar de as pesquisas apontarem que o suicidio e mais presente em individuos com psicopatologias ou tendencias as psicopatologias, existe um consenso no que diz respeito aos sintomas que envolvem a depressao, no campo da psicologia, a abordagem mais indicada e a Psicologia Cognitivo-Comportamental, que demonstra eficiencia no tratamento. ABSTRACT Introduction: Suicide is a destructive phenomenon with great social impact, was present in all societies, was studied by philosophy, sociology and later by psychiatry, psychology and psychoanalysis. It is estimated that in 2008 there were around 9,000 officially registered suicides throughout Brazil, placing Brazil among the ten countries with the highest absolute numbers of suicides. Objective: To describe and reflect the relationship between depression and suicide, from the perspective of Cognitive-Behavioral psychology. Methodology: To construct this research, a descriptive approach was chosen from the literature review. This methodology is appropriate to describe and discuss the development of a specific subject, from a theoretical or contextual perspective. Results and discussion: According to the literature, suicide has multifactorial causes, having a relationship with depression. The survey showed that Cognitive-Behavioral Psychology (CCP) is efficient in interventions and can act in conjunction with pharmacological treatment. Conclusion: Although the research indicates that suicide is more present in individuals with psychopathology or tendencies to psychopathology, there is a consensus regarding the symptoms that involve depression, in the field of psychology, the most indicated approach is Cognitive-Behavioral Psychology, which demonstrates treatment efficiency.
