Abstract

This paper investigates the phenomenon of an evaporation duct and the possibility of waves to propagate inside it. This phenomenon arises as a result of permittivity gradient in the space above the water surface. The model representing the evaporation duct as a multi-layer structure is suggested. The electromagnetic field intensity in every point of model is found by means of using Green's functions method. The paper presents both strict and approximated expressions.
