Abstract

Yaakov Ariel is Professor of Jewish History in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He is also Director of the Minor of Christianity and Culture and Co-director of the Center for Jewish Studies. His areas of scholarly interest include Judaism and Evangelical Christianity in America, and the relationship between these two religious communities. Among his publications are: On Behalf of Israel: American Fundamentalist Attitudes Towards the Jewish People and Zionism (1991); Evangelizing the Chosen People: Missions to the Jews in America 1880–2000 (2000); and An Unusual Relationship: Evangelical Christians and Jews (2013).
