History of Israel

Abstract

Holy Land, homeland, hotbed. .. The region of Israel/Palestine has been central both to the planet's great monotheistic traditions and to competing claims to its custody. This course explores the region's his-tory—and pertinent archaeological and historical issues and questions—from the Neolithic to now, and will attempt to bring to bear on that exploration the insights and interpretations derived from modern academic scholarship.
