Dictionary of regional proper names: its typological peculiarity

Abstract

The author discusses the peculiarity of the regional proper names dictionary, its typological features, including its complex and polyphonic character. The article emphasizes the role of the illustrative part of the dictionary in reflecting the views of the world and linguistic personae – individual and collective ones. It presents the idea of cumulativeness and enduring value of dictionaries.
