There can be many possible attacks on sensor network like sinkhole attack, balckhole attack, DOS attack, jamming. Sinkhole attack is among the most destructive routing attack. The issue related to the sinkhole attack is the subverted node or the malicious node advertises the attractive routing information and forces the nodes to route the data towards it and creates a sphere of influence. Therefore sinkhole attack is the kind of attack which degrades the performance of the network.
