Abstract

A compact pulse generator with the peak output current of 3 kA is designed for the pulsed current injection test. It consists of four parts, namely, a 3-stage Marx generator, peaking circuit, a control system and a current divider. The Marx Generator is charged by a +70 kV high-voltage DC source. The peaking circuit is utilized to further reduce the rise time of the Marx generator output waveform.
