O domínio da caatinga e sua biodiversidade: concepções alternativas de estudantes da educação básica

Abstract

Apesar do tema domínios Brasileiros está inserido como temática geradora nos componentes curriculares de Ciências e Geografia. Sabe-se que os conhecimentos adquiridos por parte dos estudantes referente a Caatinga são considerados supercificais, visto que muitas vezes, este assunto é abordado de forma vaga, havendo uma preferência para os ambientes de mata verde, acarretando uma ausência de conhecimento sobre a sua complexidade e importância. Nesse sentido,  o presente estudo teve como objetivo identificar e analisar as concepções alternativas de estudantes do Ensino Fundamental sobre as características do domínio Caatinga e sua biodiversidade. A pesquisa foi realizada com 93 alunos do 6º ano do ensino fundamental de uma escola privada, localizada em Natal, RN. Para a coleta dos dados, utilizou-se um questionário com 06 perguntas abertas e fechadas. Durante a análise dos resultados foi percebido que os alunos apresentaram diversas concepções alternativas, no que diz respeito a biodiversidade, delimitação e problemas socioambientais na Caatinga. Dessa forma, recomenda-se o uso de estratégias didáticas diversificadas por parte dos docentes para trabalhar esta temática em sala de aula, buscando despertar interesse dos alunos em conhecer o ambiente em que estão inseridos e assim sensibiliza-los para a conservação do domínio Caatinga. The research was carried out with 93 students from the 6th year of elementary school at a private school, located in Natal, RN. During the analysis of the results, it was noticed that the students presented several alternative conceptions, with regard to biodiversity, delimitation and socio-environmental problems in the Caatinga. Thus, it is recommended that teachers use diversified didactic strategies to work on this theme in the classroom, seeking to awaken students' interest in knowing the environment in which they live and thus sensitize them to the conservation of the Caatinga domain.
