Some common misconceptions in proposal writing and how to enhance your chances of funding

Abstract

Some commonly made assumptions and misconceptions will be analyzed. These include requesting finds for problems already solved, assuming too much or too little on the part of the reviewers and requesting fi.mds not compatible with the track record of the PI. Proposal writing is ultimately selling of your ideas and suggestions will be made for enhancing the chances of successful proposals. Establishing track record, earning the respect of your peers and networking will be discussed as some of the strategies for success.
