Abstract

In this paper, we study the performance of a combined scheduling algorithm for the downlink of an OFDMA point to multipoint wireless system. The proposed scheduling scheme consists mainly of a resource allocation, and subcarrier assignment mechanism combined with the queue management. This cross-layer approach allows one exploiting jointly the channel-related knowledge and data-related information. In this paper, we evaluate the impact of the combination of these two functionalities on system performance.
