A Tale of Two Cities: Warsaw and Kraków

Abstract

This chapter is divided into two sections addressing documentaries filmed in Warsaw and Kraków respectively. The main focus is on the relationship between fiction and documentary and on the use of archival material in documentaries about these two cities during the Holocaust. It also continues the investigation of narratives of return introduced in the previous chapters and considers the impact of tourism on Holocaust memory.
