Abstract

This paper discusses the non-linear modelling and dynamic performance of the Switched Reluctance Machine including the effect of magnetic nonlinearities, such as the model of inductance variation vs current. This variation is analytically described using Fourier series and the nonlinear variation of its coefficients with current will be expressed by polynomial functions. Results of these analytical approaches are compared with those obtained using finite element analysis (FEA) where a good agreement is observed. The final step is reserved to predict the dynamic performances of the SRM.
