Abstract

One of the factors of the ineffectiveness of speaking skills in students is caused when learning is too dominated by the teacher and does not provide access for students to develop independently through discovery in their thinking processes, students are just silent and do not dare to give their arguments against the material provided. Therefore, the author tries to make efforts to create a more effective teaching and learning process by applying speaking skills using the debate method.
