Abstract

Acquisition of polysemous words is one of the major difficulties in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Because of the richness and the importance of food culture in Chinese life, this paper chooses the verb "chi" as the research object to explore its different meanings (including basic meaning and extended meaning) and its corresponding verbs in Arabic and its teaching methods to Arab students.
