Abstract

In the paper, the expediency of using several active power filters (APF) operating in non-overlapping frequency ranges - cooperative converters as parts of the active power line conditioner is considered. These APFs provide mitigation of the current higher harmonics of a 6-, 12-, 18- or 24-pulse rectifier, which is a nonlinear load of the main. The boundary frequency of two cooperative converters is selected, which provides a minimum of the total power of losses in IGBT of active power filters. It is shown that in a system with a 6-pulse rectifier, the power of losses in switches of APF can be reduced by 24%.
