Abstract

The article focuses on training IT professionals in German higher education system. Two models of educational standards for the IT training have been outlined and described: the professional and the modular. On analyzing the academic content IT curriculum at Rhine-Westphalian Technical Aachen University, it was revealed that training IT professionals in Germany differs from the one in Ukraine in terms of complete modularization of the interdisciplinary-based curriculum with the ratio of 1:1:1 between general professional courses, major courses and practical training. Among others, Computer Science program at RWTH Aachen combines engineering and IT industry, which allows students to gain early hands-on experience.
