Abstract
A knowledge-based system (KBS) is developed as a computer-aided tool for power converter designers. The knowledge acquired from experienced designers is generalized and extended in the KBS. The algorithm-based methods are integrated with the KBS to overcome the difficulty of incomplete design knowledge. This integrated method is intended to reduce the design time and costs.
